Description
What to do when it's cold outside? I decided to make something to warm our tummies, yummy dumplings. Sharing the recipe, just in case.
Meat Dumplings
1. 1 medium red onion, minced
2. 1 tablespoon cooking oil
3. 1 lb (450 gr) ground meat (of your choice)
4. 2 eggs
5. 1 garlic clove, crushed through a garlic press
6. ½ cup bread crumbs (about 40 gr)
7. 2 tablespoon fresh parsley
8. 1 teaspoon salt
9. 1 teaspoon paprika (mild, hot or smoked – you’re the boss)
10. ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
11. Dumpling wrappers – from the supermarket, they are about 3 inches in diameter
12. Egg wash (1 egg well beaten) for sealing the dumplings
Sauté minced onion in 1 tablespoon oil until soft, let cool; in a bowl, mix with ingredients 3 to 10 until a smooth paste is obtained.
Fill dumpling wrappers with a heaping teaspoon of the mixture. Brush with egg wash around the edges. Fold, press with fingers and using a fork press edges together.
Boil for about 4 minutes in salty water. Drain and serve with your favorite sauce - here I made a spicy peanut sauce, cos some people in this house, like it hot.
